Meet the Coaches
Meet Joey
Retired fighter, father, and now gym owner and coach, I've been in this racket my entire life.

When I was a kid I dreamed of being a pro wrestler, and then an MMA fighter. I think I was just dodging a regular day job my entire life and now that I'm running a gym and have two kids...
That old office job of mine doesn't seem so bad after all. Kidding, of course. Fact is, I love this sport more now than I ever have and pray to God that this works out so that I may never have to step foot into an office ever again. I've fought MMA on the amateur and professional circuit, competed in grappling, hell, I've even got a brown belt in karate!
BUT, coaching really is where it's at for me. I absolutely love it and it's worth all the other work owning a gym entails. That said, if anyone wants to buy the place and hire me exclusively as a coach, my number is in the footer.
Meet Pat
Pat's been there and done that. He started out as a kickboxer under the tutelage of Ottawa legend Jean-Yves Theriault, but he's done it all: Kickboxing, Grappling and MMA.

His well roundedness doesn't stop there, though. Unlike myself, Pat actually
has some life skills off of the mat. Prior to coaching at the gym full time, Pat actually added value to society by working with children in the education system. The man just can't escape it—after a lifetime of working with kids, raising four of his own, fighting MMA, and now running the kids' programs and kids camps, it’s clear that he thrives in the chaos of it all.
Meet Christi
Christi needs no introduction nor do I care to write one for her but here goes. An acquiescent brown belt, like Johnny Cash, she's been everywhere.
From Mississippi to Edmonton to Ottawa to Gatineau (sheeeesh), she's been exposed to a variety of styles, holds, and philosophies from bjj, judo, and folkstyle wrestling. And what did she take away from it? Nothing. Less than nothing. Wrist locks for crying out loud.
When she's not abusing fine members like Thierry or Joseph, you can find her putting up propaganda in the gym. That's right, she's the one behind the KLIQ Pet of the Month. DM her pictures of your pet for your shot at glory.
Meet Kate
Kate will be coaching striking. She's a lifelong martial artist with a purple belt in BJJ, 8 years of training in Muay Thai, and a perfect record of 1-0. Get in and get out, smart.
If that's not smart enough for ya, she is a researcher currently writing her thesis on "MMA and Mental Health for Young Adult Women". She enjoys the great outdoors, hiking, traveling, and annoying the f*ck out of everyone with her turtle guard.
Her latest challenge is trying to keep her plants alive.
